Aquatic toxicity evaluations of PFOS and PFOA for five standard marine endpoints
Science
2 Feb 2021 | Chemosphere
In addition to providing effects data for PFOA and PFOS, this study indicates these species and endpoints are sensitive to PFAS such that their use will be appropriate for deriving toxicity data with other PFAS in marine ecosystems.

Response to “Comment on Scientific Basis for Managing PFAS as a Chemical Class
Science
1 Feb 2021 | Environ. Sci. Technol
Here we are responding to the comment by Singh and Papanastasiou who disagree with a class-based approach to PFAS and build their argument around hydrochlorofluorocarbons.

DEQ cites Chemours for PFAS treatment system failures
News
28 Jan 2021 | North Carolina Health News
The chemical plant in Bladen County, NC receives notice of violation for problems with a new treatment system that is expected to remove 99 percent of residual PFAS before they reach the Cape Fear River. This is the third notice of violation the DEQ has issued Chemours for its treatment system, and one of many since the public became aware of the contamination from the plant.

Exposure to perfluorooctanesulfonate (PFOS) but not perflurorooctanoic acid (PFOA) at ppb concentration induces chronic toxicity in Daphnia carinata
Science
26 Jan 2021 | Sci Total Environ
The results of this study have great implications for risk assessment of PFOS and PFOA in aquatic ecosystems, given the potential of PFOS to pose a risk to Daphnia even at lower concentrations (1 μg L).
