Under the supervision of the Chief of the ORS Toxicology Division, this EAV position conducts highly technical scientific and policy evaluations and research in the areas of toxicology, risk assessment and exposure assessment to protect public health and the environment. The incumbent supports DEP-ORS efforts to address toxicity and risks posed by PFAS and other contaminants in all media including drinking water. Key responsibilities include managing and completing complex toxicity evaluations using the most current data and methods for evaluating animal, epidemiology and mechanistic data including PBPK modeling, benchmark dose assessments, parametric and nonparametric statistical analysis, read-across approaches, point of departure determinations, mixtures approaches, reference dose calculations and cancer dose response methods. The incumbent manages multiple concurrent projects and works collaboratively and in coordination with a variety of internal and external groups and drafts well documented technical and policy documents.
