[Job opportunity] Postdoctoral Research Associate at Indiana University

December 1, 2020

A research team at Indiana University is looking for a postdoctoral research associate for a two-year appointment. The candidate will be part of the Integrated Atmospheric Deposition Network (IADN) team. The addition of a new LC/MS to the laboratory equipment opened up the possibility of expanding the suite of target chemicals measured within IADN in new directions. The candidate will focus on IADN’s goal of advancing the understanding of PFAS fate and transport in the Great Lakes region. Most of the work will concentrate on air and water but other media might also be explored for a comprehensive assessment of the regional distribution of PFAS.

The minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. in environmental or analytical chemistry or environmental engineering. The successful candidate should have demonstrated an ability to work independently and in a large research group.  Organizational proficiency and strong oral and written communication skills (in English) are essential. Experience in organic extraction and chemical analyses using mass spectrometry and in the analysis of persistent organic pollutants are required. Experience in programming and GIS analyses is desirable.

The salary is commensurate with qualifications. The starting date is flexible. The position is based in Bloomington, Indiana.
