"Chances are, you have a neighbor or friend with cancer. Chances are, someone has said it might be from those forever chemicals. You may have sat in a town hall meeting and heard Erin Brockovich say you have good reason to be scared. Or you may have already put it to the test — your water, your soil, your very own body — and been told your numbers are hundreds or thousands of times higher than what the EPA now calls safe.
The fear in the Dalton-Whitfield community is real. Every major scientific source takes PFAS exposure seriously.
As research continues, some questions have yielded clearer answers than others, leaving a great deal of fear living in the space between what science can conclusively determine and what scientists say they cannot yet explain."
