"An emergency training facility in Duluth used by local fire departments, Lake Superior College students and agencies from out of state is facing an expensive environmental challenge.
Millions of dollars could be needed to clean up contamination from PFAS at Lake Superior College’s Emergency Response Training Center (ERTC) in Gary-New Duluth.
Leaders with Lake Superior College (LSC) and the Duluth Fire Department say PFAS mitigation work is essential so that the facility can stay operational.
Duluth Fire Chief Shawn Krizaj praises the hands-on training the facility allows."
