"A contaminated property along the Kalamazoo River has been considered a superfund site by the Environmental Protection Agency since 1983.

But new testing shows the property at 74 Mills Street in Kalamazoo also includes PFAS contamination, per the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy.

From 1914 to 1956, the property was a municipal coal burning electrical generating station. From 1964 to 1973, it was Auto Ion Chemicals Inc., treating chromium plating and electroplating waste at the site."
