PFAS firefighting foam is collected in Ohio for proper disposal

"On Monday and Tuesday the state of Ohio held a collection day for PFAS firefighting foam. A foam that was ruled hazardous in 2022.

Although the foam was ruled hazardous it wasn’t illegal to use in Ohio until this year.

The foam was used for fighting flammable liquid fires and fire departments have since found a foam that is not deemed hazardous.

The collection day on Monday and Tuesday are so important because of the methods that could cause a hazardous reaction if it is disposed improperly."
