"Cyclobutrifluram and isocycloseram may never be household names. But they’re likely to contribute to chemical contamination in water and food consumed in many millions of households for generations to come.

Announcing its approval of the two chemicals’ use — on everything from golf courses and ornamental plants to romaine lettuce, tomatoes and soybeans — the Environmental Protection Agency parroted industry claims about the pesticides’ safety.

EPA did not mention that, according to the most widely accepted scientific standard, both pesticides are long-lasting “forever chemicals” — otherwise referred to as PFAS, substances known to pollute waterways for decades or centuries after they’re applied."
