"A federal report that tracks industrial releases of chemicals into the environment will include additional PFAS, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced Friday. Nine per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances have been added to the Toxics Release Inventory, or TRI, a running list of chemicals manufactured and used by certain facilities.
Industries and federal facilities that manufacture, process or otherwise use TRI-listed chemicals above set quantities are required to report those chemicals to the EPA each year under the Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act. Businesses and facilities must report the quantities of chemicals being released into the environment or managed as waste."
