"Lawmakers in Augusta are considering a bill to establish limits for PFAS chemicals in produce grown by Maine farmers.

LD 130 would also enshrine into law the PFAS response program that provides financial support, land buyouts, research, and other services to more than 80 impacted farms across the state.

If the measure is approved, Maine could lead the nation in setting new PFAS thresholds for some of the foods we consume.

Since 2021, Maine has been a leader in working toward a possible future without forever chemicals."
