"Connecticut is suing 28 chemical companies for spreading dangerous PFAs into the state. Attorney General William Tong (D-Conn.) is suing companies for knowingly contaminating the state’s waters and natural resources.

PFAs are known are forever chemicals, as they are found in many products including non-stick pans, and shampoo. The PFAs are toxic and do not go away. They can spread to humans, animals and even food increasing the risk of illness including cancer.

Firefighters are especially at risk as PFAs have been found in the foam they use to put out fires.

One of the lawsuits focuses specifically on that foam."
