"U.S. Rep. Debbie Dingell is urging the state of Michigan to reject footwear giant Wolverine Worldwide’s plan to clean up PFAS pollution under its former Rockford tannery.

In a Feb. 13 letter to the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE), Dingell called the company’s plan “insufficient to adequately clean-up this site and prevent the spread of these harmful chemicals into the Rogue River and surrounding environment.”

Dingell, who represents Ann Arbor, not Rockford, in Congress, sent the letter to Dan Eichinger, acting EGLE director who replaced former director Liesl Clark in December."
