Some New Mexico households eligible for free well testing to detect PFAS

"The New Mexico Environment Department is offering residents around Cannon Air Force Base free water testing for PFAS contamination.

The department said this comes as a direct result of residents’ testimonies late last month with the department during a public meeting.

The department said the federal government has failed to clean up the PFAS chemicals, commonly found in firefighting foams, since the contamination was confirmed in 2018."
