Town of Campbell to Keep Receiving Free Drinking Water Because of PFAS, Two State Agencies Say

“Town of Campbell residents will keep receiving free drinking water under a contract with two state agencies involved with investigating and mediating PFAS well contamination on French Island.
Residents do not need to do anything to keep receiving the contracted water, according to a news release from Campbell Supervisor Lee Donahue. State agencies are providing more than 1,000 homes on French Island bottled water because of groundwater contamination.
The DNR will send individual letters to Campbell residents soon with additional details and information.
‘DHS has completed a review of the PFAS data for French Island available to date, and we are in agreement with DNR that there is still insufficient data to make any revisions to the existing interim area-wide health advisory for PFAS,’ said Curtis Hedman, a toxicologist with the DHS.”…
