"The Wausau City Council on Tuesday unanimously rejected a proposal to sell the city’s remaining PFAS settlement payments from 3M for a reduced lump sum, a move that would have cost taxpayers nearly half a million dollars.
Some alders questioned why the offer – which would have forfeited roughly $466,630 in total expected payments – was even placed on the agenda.
A resolution with the agreement mentioned the City of Wausau as additional seller, Napoli Shkolnik PLLC – that represented the city in the class action lawsuit against 15 chemical manufacturers and 61 insurance companies – and NS PP Law Services LLC as “initial sellers,” and NS Buyer 2025-1 LLC as the purchaser. The city filed the lawsuit in 2023."
