Virtual Event No Defense Screening

The Great Lakes PFAS Action Network is hosting a virtual, seven day screening of the award winning documentary film, No Defense, The U.S. Military’s War on Water, by Pulitzer Prize winner Sara Ganim, to raise awareness and prompt action on the PFAS crisis occurring across the Great Lakes region.

The documentary tells the story of PFAS contamination in the small Michigan community of Oscoda. Over a decade ago, PFAS contamination from the former Wurtsmith Air Force Base was discovered there, leaching into ground and surface water, posing an imminent threat to people’s drinking water and their health.

What: Screening of No Defense: The U.S. Military’s War on Water followed by a panel discussion with the filmmaker and people featured in the film.
Where: Register to watch the film HERE. Once registered, you’ll receive an e-mail from Virtual Cinema with the link to watch the film and panel online.
When: The film will run August 12th-August 18th.
Who: Anyone in Michigan, Wisconsin or Pennsylvania can watch the film online during the screening period.
COST: FREE. The film is free to watch, though anyone can make a donation to the film during registration. Event attendees can also choose to make a donation to the Great Lakes PFAS Action Network to support the Network’s organizing and education efforts HERE.
