Evaluation of residues in hen eggs after exposure of laying hens to water containing per‐ and poly‐fluoroalkyl substances
Science
13 Apr 2020 | Environ. Tox. & Chem.
There was a clear correlation between the PFAS concentrations in the drinking water of hens and those detected in the egg, which could be useful in estimating PFAS concentrations in the egg by measuring water concentrations.

Dietary characteristics associated with plasma concentrations of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances among adults with pre-diabetes: Cross-sectional results from the Diabetes Prevention Program Trial
Science
26 Feb 2020 | Environ Int
Consuming omega-3 rich fish was associated with lower plasma concentrations of some PFAS.

[Public comment] Draft scientific opinion on the risks to human health related to the presence of perfluoroalkyl substances in food
Policy
24 Feb 2020
The European Food Safety Authority is holding consultation for the proposed PFOA+PFOS+PFHxS+PFNA tolerable weekly intake of 8 ng/kg of body weight per week. Parts of the European population exceed this level with fish, fruit, and eggs being the largest sources of exposure. Comment period ends on April 20, 2020.

Determinants of serum concentrations of perfluoroalkyl acids (PFAAs) in school children and the contribution of low-level PFAA-contaminated drinking water
Science
18 Feb 2020 | Environ Sci Process Impacts
The drinking water variable was found to be 16% (PFOA) to 78% (PFHxS) of the variation in serum PFAA concentrations, suggesting that low-level-contaminated drinking water is a significant source of exposure for children in Sweden.
-
Combined effects and toxicological interactions of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances mixtures in human liver cells (HepG2)
Science
18 Feb 2020 | Environ. Poll.
