Study: Novel PFAS comprise 24% of those measured in blood of Wilmington, N.C. residents
News
23 Jul 2020 | NC State News
The fluoroethers – Nafion byproduct 2, PFO4DA and PFO5DoA – these are the first measurements of these chemicals in humans. Two other fluoroethers, PFO3OA and NVHOS, were infrequently detected. Nearly all samples had at least one fluoroether present, but GenX was not found in any samples.

New PFAS chemical contamination discovered in New Jersey
News
4 Jun 2020 | The Intercept
The recently identified chemicals is known only as “Solvay’s compound” which is a replacement for the PFNA, a close relative of PFOA. Previously, 83 wells around the site have been found to be contaminated with both PFNA and PFOA. Elevated levels of PFNA were found in people living near the plant, with one person’s blood level reaching 63 times the national average.
